What Kajabi is built to do

Kajabi is one of the best-known platforms for selling online courses, coaching programs, memberships, and communities. It hosts your video lessons, gives you a website and landing page builder, runs email campaigns, and handles checkout. It is a mature product and the knowledge-business category is its home turf.

As of September 25, 2026, Kajabi's public pricing page lists three plans: Basic at $179 per month, Growth at $249 per month, and Pro at $499 per month, with lower rates when billed annually ($143, $199, and $399 per month respectively). Plans differ mainly by product count, contact limits, and admin users. Basic allows 5 products and 2,500 contacts; Growth allows 50 products and 25,000 contacts; Pro allows unlimited products and 100,000 contacts.

Kajabi announced in a pricing update that new pricing took effect on January 13, 2026, applying to existing customers on their first billing date on or after that date. That same update references a Kickstarter tier alongside Basic, Growth, and Pro, but no Kickstarter plan appears on the public pricing page today, so check Kajabi directly if you are budgeting for an entry tier.

What you still have to do on Kajabi

Kajabi gives you a strong set of tools and a blank page. Someone has to write the emails, build the funnel, decide when a lead is warm, and personally reach out when a past attendee asks about a program. The platform can automate a sequence, but it cannot know what Priya asked in the front row on Tuesday.

For a coach whose business is mostly relationship-driven, that gap is where revenue leaks. The course is finished, the site is live, and yet the follow-up with real people, the ones who heard you speak and might buy the intensive, still depends on whether you had a free evening.

Who Kajabi is better for

Choose Kajabi if the product you sell is primarily digital content and your audience finds you through content, ads, or an existing list. If you have a course catalog, a membership community, and an email list you enjoy writing to, Kajabi's tooling is built exactly for that, and its plans start well below Mentor's.

It is also the better choice if you want a self-serve setup with no onboarding call, or if you have a team member whose job is to run your marketing platform. Kajabi is a publishing and selling engine, and a good one.

Who SyncGrid Mentor is better for

Choose Mentor if your revenue comes from relationships and rooms: workshops, keynotes, corporate leadership programs, one-on-one and group coaching sold through conversations. If the thing that slips in your business is the follow-up, not the course upload, Mentor addresses the actual bottleneck.

It is also the better choice if you want one place where your stages, your proposals, your payments, and your storefront are connected, and where a team drafts the work while you approve with your coffee. Access is by application, and every walkthrough is one-on-one.

It is not the right choice if what you need this quarter is a place to upload forty lessons and start selling them with no setup investment. That is a Kajabi-shaped problem.

Can you use both?

Yes. Some coaches keep their course library where it is and use Mentor for what it does best: the relationship engine, the stages, and approved follow-up. Others move their programs into the Operator storefront so that checkout lands in their own Square account and the client portal sits next to the team that sells it.

Neither path locks you in. Every client, note, and draft in Mentor is exportable any day, and plans are month to month.
